Ganciclovir 0.15% (Virgan or Zirgan -- name not decided on yet)

-new drug for acute herpetic keratitis treatment
-gel form
-has been available in Europe for >10 years
-inhibits viral DNA synthesis, but is less toxic than Viroptic
-may also work for EKC
